Helping each other become and make complete disciples of Jesus Christ so that we may present ourselvess to Him as a radiant church

Our Mission

We exist to help each other become and make complete disciples of Jesus Christ so that we may present ourselves to Him as a radiant church.

Our Leadership

Pastor Mike Eberly (RevEberly@sbcglobal.net)

Pastor Mike is an ordained minister in the Conservative Baptist Association. He received his Masters of Divinity from Trinity in Deerfield, IL.  Mike has been the senior pastor of New Community Church since its inception in 1998. Mike and his wife, Susan, have four children. Shanice (18), Carmeanna (14), Amanda (9), and Jason (8).

Our Background

Lorimer Baptist Church, an exciting multiracial church in Dolton, IL, sent Pastor Mike Eberly and family to Richton Park in the fall of 1998 to start another vibrant, multiracial church in the Park Forest/ Richton Park/ Matteson area.  Soon after the Eberly's move, the loving people of Grove Heights Baptist Church in Chicago sent Pastor Darwin Rodgers and family to partner with Pastor Mike and family in this new ministry.  In the spring of 2000, NCC began weekly services at a rented location in Richton Park.  Since then, our young church "plant" has been faithful to its vision and grown strong as God provided at every turn.

Perhaps the most miraculous provision for NCC occurred in the fall of 2005.  We were in great need of a new meeting place because our current building was soon to be unavailable for renting.  After much prayer, the people of Village Bible Church of Park Forest did a most generous thing:  Amazingly, they gave their building and property to NCC!  We are truly a blessed church and we thank God and the people of VBC.

Our Organization

New Community Church is part of the Conservative Baptist Association. We are conservative (nothing to do politics) in the way we view the Bible, believing that the Bible is what it claims to be - the Word of God without error in its original form. We are Baptist because we administer the ordinance of baptism upon an individual's initial, personal confession of faith in Christ.
